“Boom in Homeschooling Expected”–This isn’t homeschooling even in BC, Canada!
Aug 19th, 2006 by Annette
Last night, I blogged on AHA-Charter Focus about a Canadian news article from August 10 entitled, “Boom in home-schooling expected“. I have seen this article referred to in a few homeschool circles with no questioning as to whether it is actually about homeschooling. Maybe people missed the clues? To me, it was similar to some US articles confusing public school-at-home and homeschooling. It seems that in British Columbia homeschool advocates have to work at keeping the lines distinct between homeschooling and public schooling-at-home as well. The article is not about homeschooling, but “distributed learning”. Here is a link at the British Columbia Ministry of Education explaining the differences between the two options.
