ARVS & Federal Probe
Apr 9th, 2006 by Annette
Over at the AHA-Charter Blog, I blogged and commented about this situation. It’s been two years, but the public perception that this is a scam to “pull down money for homeschoolers” is still out there.
A Federal Probe into Arkansas Virtual School is now completed. It was conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office and stems from concerns that the Arkansas Virtual School was improperly awarded a $4.1 million grant by the U.S. Department of Education. Two radio programs about this story can be found here.
An Arkansas news article, School or scam? - Home is where the school is from February 13, 2004, gives some insight into what spurred the investigation. Click to read my comments at the AHA-Charter Blog about: ARVS & Federal Probe: An Undeserved Black-Eye for Homeschooling
